About The Change Room Restore Programs

The Change Room Restore programs support individuals aiming to manage stress and rebuild their functional resilience. Our approach blends practical recovery protocols and state-regulation tools that create steady, measurable change.

The Change Room was founded through Matt Elliott’s personal transformation. After being diagnosed with a serious autoimmune condition, he applied cutting-edge recovery, state-management, and resilience techniques to restore his health. That experience shaped the foundations of our recovery approach – accessible protocols and support systems that empower individuals to manage their recovery from the inside out.

Matt Elliott

Founder & Wellbeing Coach

Matt’s journey into the science of recovery began with a personal crisis. After a 20-year career as an NRL Head Coach, he was diagnosed with a serious autoimmune condition and told he would live with the pain for life. Refusing to accept a future of limitation, Matt immersed himself in cutting-edge recovery, mindset, and wellbeing techniques that led to a full recovery.

Today, Matt translates the high-performance techniques once reserved for elite athletes into a science-based, practical pathway for anyone rebuilding their physical and emotional capacity. His approach is grounded in the belief that every person deserves the opportunity to regain their stability and energy through small, sustainable daily practices.

Dr. Ali Walker

Social Scientist & Human Behaviour Expert

With a PhD in human behaviour and Master’s degrees in criminal law and international relations, Ali is a leading expert on the profound impact group dynamics and social connection have on health. Her research highlights how the power of belonging is not just a social concept, but a biological necessity linked directly to happiness, wellbeing, and increased life expectancy.

Ali’s work is vital for those navigating recovery, as she demonstrates how social interactions and healthy relationship patterns serve as a foundation for a long, resilient life. By sharing engaging stories backed by rigorous science, she helps individuals understand their unique connection types to build more supportive environments for their personal growth.

Mark Hughes Oam

Mindset Advocate & Brain Cancer Survivor

Mark’s perspective on resilience was forged through an elite sporting career followed by his greatest challenge off the field. A dual NRL premiership winner, Mark was diagnosed with high-grade brain cancer in 2013 at the age of 36. His transition from the physical peak of professional sport to facing a life-threatening illness has made him one of Australia’s most authentic voices on the power of a resilient mindset.

Mark is a master storyteller who uses candour and humour to share his life-changing mantra: Make Today Count. His journey provides a powerful roadmap for anyone facing adversity, showing how a focus on purpose and the support of a team can empower individuals to view their own challenges with new positivity and determination.

Nam Baldwin

Physiological Reset & Breathwork Specialist

Nam is a world-renowned expert in the physiological mechanics of stress and recovery. Having worked with some of the planet’s most elite performers—from big-wave surfers to special forces—Nam specialises in how the body’s internal systems drive our ability to heal. He understands that recovery begins with the nervous system, and he provides participants with the “shorthand” to reset their bodies under pressure.

Nam’s personal journey of managing high-stakes environments has led to a practical philosophy centred on breath and sleep as the primary engines of restoration. He helps individuals move from a state of constant “red-line” stress into a restorative state where the body can begin to repair itself both physically and cognitively.

Brett Robinson

Performance Therapist & Rehabilitation Mentor

Brett brings a unique perspective to physical recovery, blending his background as a high-level therapist with the experience of coaching Paralympic athletes to world-class success. He understands that the journey of rehabilitation is rarely linear and that a patient’s mental state is the most significant indicator of their physical progress.

Brett’s approach focuses on the “Mind-Body connection” required to navigate major life transitions after injury. He provides grounded, empathetic support for those rebuilding their identity, moving them away from the frustration of what they have lost and toward a clear, science-backed path of what they can still achieve.

Dr. Juliette Tobias-Webb

Behavioural Scientist & Habit Change Expert

As one of Australia’s premier behavioural scientists, Juliette is an expert in the mechanics of human change. She understands that the biggest hurdle in any recovery journey is not just knowing what to do, but actually doing it consistently. Her work focuses on the science of “nudges”—small, evidence-based habit shifts that lead to massive long-term improvements in health and wellbeing.

Juliette’s personal passion for wellness and her rigorous academic background allow her to help participants break down complex recovery goals into manageable daily actions. She provides the psychological tools required to stay resilient and motivated, ensuring that the changes made during the program become permanent lifestyle fixtures.

Anthony Minichiello

Nutrition & Physical Restoration Expert

Anthony’s career as a legendary NRL captain was almost cut short by a series of debilitating spinal and back injuries. When traditional medicine offered few answers, he began a deep exploration into the link between nutrition, movement, and physical healing. By radically changing his approach to how he fuelled and moved his body, Anthony was able to not only return to sport but play at the highest level well into his thirties.

Anthony shares this “lived experience” of healing from within. He helps participants understand how simple, restorative movement and targeted nutrition can reduce inflammation, increase energy, and provide the physical foundation necessary for a sustained recovery.

Jeff Hardy

Community & Belonging Mentor

A proud Ualaroi and Gamiliraay man and former professional athlete, Jeff understands that true healing cannot happen in isolation. His journey has taught him that the strength of our “tribe”—our family and community—is the ultimate safety net during periods of injury or high stress. Jeff has navigated significant personal challenges, including supporting his own family through complex health journeys, which has deepened his empathy and insight.

Jeff draws on timeless Indigenous wisdom and modern connection rituals to help participants find a sense of belonging and stability. He focuses on the social and emotional pillars of recovery, helping individuals reconnect with themselves and those around them to build a foundation of long-term resilience.
